Pursuant to the February 17, 2025 adoption of Ordinance 25-O-1009, the existing Governing Board of the Office of the Inspector General and the Ethics Office was eliminated, and the Governing Board of the Office of the Inspector General was established. Under the Atlanta City Charter, as leader of the Office of the Inspector General, the Inspector General reports directly to the Governing Board.
The Governing Board consists of seven members with residency, employment, or business interests within the City of Atlanta, who are nominated by local civic, professional, and educational associations and institutions. The nominees are confirmed by the City Council, and approved by the Mayor. Each member is asked to serve a three year term.
